1. Agreement to terms

By accessing or using the Formul.io platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.

2. Food safety disclaimer

Important notice

Formul.io provides estimated calculations based on ingredient data and established food science models. Our predictions are formulation guides designed to assist professional food technologists and confectioners in their work.

  • Validation required: Users are responsible for validating all formulations through proper testing procedures before commercial production.
  • Regulatory compliance: Users must ensure compliance with all applicable local, national, and international food safety regulations.
  • Variable results: Results may vary based on ingredient quality, equipment specifications, environmental conditions, and processing methods.
  • Professional verification: For commercial food safety compliance, verify all critical parameters (water activity, pH, temperature, etc.) with calibrated instruments.
  • No guarantee: Formul.io does not guarantee that formulations will meet specific quality standards, shelf life expectations, or regulatory requirements without proper testing.

Our calculations are within 5% of measured values in controlled laboratory conditions — more accurate than manual calculations. However, they serve as starting points for professional formulation work, not as replacements for proper food safety protocols and testing.

3. Intellectual property rights

Unless otherwise indicated, the Site and its entire contents, features, and functionality (including but not limited to all information, software, text, displays, images, video, and audio, and the design, selection, and arrangement thereof) are owned by Formul.io, its licensors, or other providers of such material and are protected by international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property or proprietary rights laws.

4. User representations

By using the Site, you represent and warrant that:

  • All registration information you submit will be true, accurate, current, and complete.
  • You will maintain the accuracy of such information and promptly update such registration information as necessary.
  • You have the legal capacity and you agree to comply with these Terms of Service.
  • You are not a minor in the jurisdiction in which you reside.
  • You will use the platform for professional food formulation purposes in accordance with applicable food safety regulations.
  • You understand that the platform provides formulation guidance and not definitive food safety certification.

5. Prohibited activities

You may not access or use the Site for any purpose other than that for which we make the Site available. The Site may not be used in connection with any commercial endeavors except those that are specifically endorsed or approved by us.

6. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • Formul.io shall not be liable for any product failures, food safety incidents, regulatory violations, or financial losses resulting from the use of formulations created or suggested by the platform.
  • Users assume all risks associated with product development, manufacturing, and sale of food products based on platform calculations.
  • Formul.io provides the service "AS-IS" and makes no warranties regarding accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose.
  • Our total liability for any claims arising from your use of the service shall not exceed the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months preceding the claim.

7. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Formul.io and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including legal fees, arising from:

  • Your use of the platform and any formulations created using our service
  • Any products you manufacture or sell based on platform calculations
  • Your violation of these Terms or any applicable laws
  • Any food safety incidents or regulatory violations related to your products

8. Data processing for B2B services

For business customers, we process data in accordance with applicable data protection laws including GDPR. Business customers are responsible for ensuring they have appropriate legal basis for any personal data they input into the system. A separate Data Processing Agreement (DPA) is available upon request for enterprise customers.

9. Governing law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which Formul.io operates, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

10. Changes to terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of any material changes via email or through the platform. Your continued use of the service after such modifications constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
